Taiwan’s four major international trade ports processed a total of 15,454,554 TEUs of containers in 2021, up 5.9% year on year from 14,593,577 TEUs, the state’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) has announced.

Individually, Kaohsiung handled 9,864,448 TEUs, up 2.52%; Taipei, 2,091,132 TEUs, up 24.16%; Taichung, 1,979,222 TEUs, up 8.69%; and Keelung, 1,601,372 TEUs, up 4.47%. Container throughput increased from the previous calendar year at all of the Big Four ports.
