The Port of Nagoya handled a total of 166,555 TEUs of export and import loaded and empty containers in June, which plunged 26.1% from the corresponding month of 2019, the Nagoya Port Authority said.
All container terminals at the port suffered double-digit shrinkages in container throughput. More precisely, volumes plummeted 62.7% at Tobishima Pier North Container Terminal, which handled 4,389 TEUs; 47.9% at Tobishima Pier South Container Terminal, 14,139 TEUs; 37.5% at Tobishima Pier South Side Container Terminal, 29,724 TEUs; 18.6% at Nagoya Container Berth (NCB) Container Terminal, 35,222 TEUs; and 13.2% at Nabeta Pier Container Terminal, 83,081 TEUs.
In the first half (January-June), 1,128,998 TEUs were moved to and from Nagoya in total, down 15.2% year on year.
