The Ministry of Finance (MOF)'s Customs and Tariff Bureau (CTB) will install e-file terminals at 10 locations on March 3, 2014 and at two on April 1. Currently, e-file terminals are available at a total of 42 substations under the Japan Customs' regional customs. In April, as such, the total number of offices with such devices will reach 54.

The CTB is in the process of expanding the network of e-file terminals as part of its efforts to promote computerized paperless customs formalities (export and import declarations). The bureau intends to allow users to complete various procedures on such terminals, using the Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System (NACCS).
