Containerized exports from Asia to Europe monitored by U.K.'s Container Trades Statistics (CTS) rose by 3.7% from a year earlier to 14 million TEUs in 2013, but fell a bid short of the 2011 figure of 14.2 million TEUs.
Exports for 2013 to North Europe climbed by 2.0% from the previous year to 9.1 million TEUs. On the Asia to the Mediterranean trade, westbound boxes to the West Mediterranean and North Africa increased by 4.0% on year to 2.4 million TEUs while those to the Black Sea and the East Mediterranean showed the largest year-on-year increase of 10.3% to 3.6 million TEUs.
