South Korea–Japan container trade shrank 4.6% year on year to 496,088 TEUs in the first four months (January–April), according to the Korea Nearsea Freight Conference (KNFC). Outbound containers from South Korea accounted for 292,613 TEUs, down 8.6%, while the remaining 203,475 TEUs were inbound, up 1.8%. Shipments traded directly between the nations came to 205,376 TEUs, up 1.8%; feeder cargo, 57,223 TEUs, down 13.5%; and transshipment (T/S) containers, 233,489 TEUs, down 7.4%.
