The Port of Yokkaichi in central Japan handled 13,269 TEUs of foreign-trade containers in February, up 2.9% year on year, according to preliminary statistics compiled by the Yokkaichi Port Authority.
Exports accounted for 7,083 TEUS, down 5.5%, and imports, 6,186 TEUs, up 14.7%. Looking at loaded containers, 6,065 TEUs were exported, down 6.4%, and 5,942 TEUs were imported, up 27.6%, for a total of 12,007 TEUs, up 7.8%. Empty containers totaled 1,262 TEUs, down 28.2%.
In January-February, international feeder containers added up to 1,111 TEUs, down 35.1%.
