The Port of Nagoya handled 220,082 TEUs of foreign-trade containers in August, up 10.6% year on year for the fifth consecutive month of growth, according to preliminary figures tallied by the Nagoya Port Authority (NPA).

By terminal, throughput more than tripled at Tobishima Pier North Container Terminal, skyrocketing 234.9% to 9,494 TEUs. Tobishima Pier South Container Terminal was responsible for 22,390 TEUs, up 1.1%. Volumes increased by double digits at both Tobishima Pier South Side Container Terminal and Nabeta Pier Container Terminal, jumping 32.5% to 53,147 TEUs and 10.2% to 92,991 TEUs, respectively. In contrast, NCB Container Terminal did not perform as well, only handling 42,060 TEUs, down 15%.
