The Port of Long Beach incurred a double-digit contraction in container throughput in November. It only processed 588,742 TEUs, which plummeted 21% year on year, due to reduced orders from retailers and goods shifted to ports on the East and Gulf coasts. Focusing on laden containers, 259,442 TEUs were imported, down 28.4%, and 124,988 TEUs were exported, down 13.8%. Empties totaled 204,313 TEUs, down 25.2%. In January-November, 8,589,553 TEUs were handled in total, down 0.5%.
