The composite World Container Index (WCI) decreased by 10% to $4,014 per FEU in Week 39, the 31st consecutive weekly decrease, and has dropped by 61% when compared with the same week of last year, according to Drewry Maritime Research. The index was 61% below the peak of $10,377 per FEU reached in September 2021, but it remains 8% higher than the five-year average of $3,714 per FEU. The year-to-date average index was $7,597 per FEU, $3,884 higher than the abovementioned five-year average.
