The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)'s Kanto Regional Development Bureau will this fiscal year run a new port and harbor information system on a trial basis at Container Terminal D1 at the Port of Yokohama's Honmoku Pier, the bureau said on Wednesday. To discuss how container transport can be more efficient with the system, known as Container Fast Pass (CONPAS), the bureau convened a meeting of a committee for improving the efficiency of container transport at the Port of Yokohama on the same day. COMPAS was introduced at the port's Minami Honmoku Pier on March 30, 2021 and has been tested twice so far at Honmoku Pier's Container Terminal BC. To introduce the information system more extensively in Japan, the bureau also announced that it will be used at the Port of Tokyo.
