A total of 32,734 vehicles were run overland by 20 operators to carry marine containers in March, down 6.4% from the corresponding month of last year, according to the Tokyo Trucking Association (TTA)'s marine container division.
Of the total, 6,547 were deployed from the operators' fleets, down 11.3%, while the remaining 26,187 were chartered, down 5.1%. The latter accounted for 80%, a slight increase of 1.1 percentage points from the previous month's 78.9%.
