The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT)'s Port and Harbor Bureau and TradeWaltz have announced that they will strive to develop a Japan-standard trade platform. To this end, the Port and Harbor Bureau will coordinate CyberPort, a platform for digitalizing trade formalities that it operates, with TradeWaltz, a business and financial platform of TradeWaltz.

To coordinate domestic trade digitalization projects, it was unveiled on Nov. 12, 2020 that joint efforts would be made to establish a link between the Nippon Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System (NACCS) and TradeWaltz. On April 15, 2022, it was announced that cooperation would be implemented between NACCS and CyberPort. This time, CyberPort will work with TradeWaltz.

To promote the use of such platforms among those in Japan engaged in trade, digitalize trade data and organize networks of trade data, it is effective to develop specifications for domestic trade data standards and hopefully have them linked with those from other countries and regions. To promote trade platforms, CyberPort, TradeWaltz and others will continue to actively get involved in programs that the public and private sectors are advancing for trade digitalization.
