It has been revealed that 91% of Japanese manufacturers doing business in Shanghai, China are being forced to operate at less than 30% of capacity, according to the Shanghai Japanese Commerce and Industry Club (SJCIC). The SJCIC conducted a survey on April 27-30 to find out the impact of the lockdown in the city on business operations and others. Responses were made by 100 businesses. It was the second such project after the results of the first one were unveiled on April 15. The SJCIC wanted to know whether business operations and production activities had been resumed and whether there had been new problems.

When asked about international logistics, 43% of the respondents said they can make no arrangements at all, while 27% said that only less than 30% of their needs are met. Those who made such answers accounted for a total of 70%. Since the Shanghai lockdown was imposed, a growing number of business operators have been trying to use seaports and airports in other regions.
