Last month the port of Singapore handled 52.1 million tons of cargo with an increase of 2.0% over the same month in 2021. The figure also represents increases of 2.0% on the volumes of cargo handled in January 2020 and 0.3% on those process in the corresponding period of prepandemic 2019. In January 2022 in the container sector alone, 30.5 million tons of goods were handled, with a decrease of 0.7% in January 2021. In number, the port processed containers equal to over 3.1 million TEUs, 0.4% less than in the same moth of 2021.
