The composite Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) stood at 4,601.97 points in Week 47, rising 1% from the previous week and making such an improvement for the third week in a row.

On the trade to Europe, the spot rate fell by a slight $3 from $7,552 per TEU to $7,549 per TEU, but demand remained massive, stabilizing the market. Transport demand was favorable on the route to the Mediterranean, too, helping the spot container rate level off at $7,234 per TEU.

The trans-Pacific route was still hit hard by prolonged port congestion and container shortages. The spot rate for containers destined to the east coast of North America increased a minute 0.1% to $10,427 per FEU, while that for shipments to the west coast remained unchanged at $6,730 per FEU.
