The port Hong Kong handled 1.508 million TEUs in August, down 4.1% from the same month last year, representing a decline for three consecutive months, according to the Hong Kong Marine and Port Board (HKMPB). The port's largest terminal Kwai Tsing handled 1.218 million TEUs, down 3.0% from a year before and other terminals handled 290,000 TEUs, down 8.7% year on year.
In the first eight months of the year the traffic totaled 11.781 million TEUs, with a slight gain of 0.1% on the same period in 2020.
