Spot rates for container exports from Shanghai hiked across the board in Week 36. The composite index went up 1.5% to 4,568.16 points, accomplishing an improvement from the previous term for the 18th week in a row.

In Europe, some ports remained severely crowded, lifting the average load factor of carriers from the Chinese port to nearly 100%. Freight rates on the route, as such, increased 0.6% to $7,491 per TEU. Rates for containers to the Mediterranean, meanwhile, climbed 1% to $7,365 per TEU.

In the U.S., ports remained congested, while container shortages persisted. The truck turnover rates, furthermore, continued to fall. These factors contributed to making freight rates on the North America route fluctuated at high levels. Spot rates for exports to the east coast picked up 0.7% to $11,731 per FEU and to the west coast, 0.9% to $6,322 per TEU.
