Container throughput at the port of Hong Kong swung to a positive growth of 7.1% to 1.621 million TEUs in March. The Kwai Tsing Terminals saw a throughput increase of 5.8% at 1.281 million TEUs while Mid-steam operators also enjoyed a surge of 11.9% with volume of 340,000 TEUs breaking a run of 16 months that saw throughput decline on a year-on-year basis.

For the first three months, the port witnessed a 2.4% volume increase to 4.198 million TEUs. The Kwai Tsing Terminals processed 3.444 million TEUs, up 4.9% from a year earlier and midstream operators, however, saw a year-on-year decline of 7.9% to 754,000 TEUs.
