Taiwan's Big Four international ports handled a total of 14,593,559 TEUs of containers in 2020, representing a 4.61% decline from the previous year's 15,298,285 TEUs, according to statistics compiled by the state's The Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC).
Looking at volumes at individual ports, Keelung and Taichung enjoyed a year-on-year improvement. More specifically, Kaohsiung processed 9,621,662 TEUs, down 7.74%; Taichung, 1,820,968 TEUs, up 1.51%; Taipei, 1,618,131 TEUs, down 0.14%; and Keelung, 1,532,792 TEUs, up 5.33%.
