The Ningbo Shipping Exchange (NBSE) has unveiled that the Ningbo Containerized Freight Index (NCFI) for the week ended on August 28 achieved all-time high of 1030.6 points, up by 15.9 percent against the previous week. The benchmark was fixed at 1000 in Week 10, 2012.

The selected all twenty-one routes achieved an upward trend and all major ports along the Maritime Silk Road have shown a constant rising tendency.

The Ningbo-Europe freight index surged by 16.0% from the previous week to 788.9 points, while the indices on the trade lanes from Ningbo to East Mediterranean and West Mediterranean also registered increases of 6.7% and 11.2% to 719.6 and 809.1 points, respectively.

On the Transpacific trade, freight indices from Ningbo to the U.S. East Coast and West Coast set new records of 1576.3 points and 2268.2 points, achieving robust increases of 15.6% and 12.9% from a week before, respectively.
