The Port of Shanghai handled 3.6 million TEUs of containers in June, down 4% from a year earlier, according to Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG). In the first half (January-June), total container throughput at the port was 20.1 million TEUs, down 6.8%.
SIPG, which is responsible for 80% of the shipments carried to and from Shanghai, processed a total of 235.5 million tons in January-June.
