In June, Hong Kong Port handled 1.569 million TEUs, up 2.8% from the same period last year, representing the first positive growth in the last 29 months。

Drilling down, the Kwai Tsing terminals saw a throughput of 1.254 million TEUs, 7.9% higher than the number processed a year earlier. Midstream operations handled 315,000 TEUs, a decline of 13.5% compared to June 2019.

The cumulative figure for the first six months of 2020 stands at 8.647 million TEUs, down 4.9% from a year earlier. The Kwai Tsing terminals handled 6.901 million TEUs, down 2.5% year on year and Midstream operations processed 1,746 million TEUs, losing 13.4% from the same period in 2019.
