Containers traded directly between Taiwan and China decreased 3.39% from 794,644 TEUs to 767,678 TEUs in January-April, according to the former’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
By port in Taiwan, container volumes declined at Kaohsiung and Keelung, which waned 8.93% to 365,463 TEUs and 2.06% to 179,358 TEUs, respectively. In contrast, Taichung and Taipei both did well, processing 183,322 TEUs, up 5.57% and 39,535 TEUs, up 8.18%, respectively.
