Combined container throughput at 12 state-run ports in India swelled from a year earlier in April-June, going up 7% to 2.573 million TEUs, according to the Indian Ports Association (IPA). By port, 1.307 million TEUs were moved to and from Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), up 5.3%; 372,000 TEUs to and from Chennal, down 9.7%; 208,000 TEUs to and from Kolkata, down 1.9%; 199,000 TEUs to and from V.O. Chidambaranar, up 8.7%; 152,000 TEUs to and from Cochin, up 9.4%; 127,000 TEUs to and from Visakhapatnam, up 13.4%; 117,000 TEUs to and from Deendayal (formerly Kandla), up 108.9%; 39,000 TEUs to and from Kamarajar (formerly Ennore), no record from a year earlier; 34,000 TEUs to and from New Mangalore, up 3%; 8,000 TEUs to and from Mormugao, up 14.3%; 8,000 TEUs to and from Mumbai, up 14.3%; and 2,000 TEUs to and from Paradip, down 33.3%.
