The combined volume of containerized shipments handled at major trade ports in Taiwan amounted to 3,724,139 TEUs in the first quarter (January-March) of 2019, down 0.9% year on year from 3,727,520 TEUs, according to the state’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC).
By port, containers to and from Kaohsiung were up 0.03% to 2,562,257 TEUs; to and from Taipei, up 0.53% to 419,547 TEUs; to and from Keelung, up 2.62% to 412,617 TEUs and to and from Keelung, down 4.89% to 329,718 TEUs.
