The combined volume of international and domestic containerized shipments handled at the Port of Kobe in 2018 swelled 0.7% from the previous year to 2.944 million TEUs, setting a new record for the second year in a row. International shipments remained nearly unchanged at 2.22 million TEUs. By region, 1.82 million TEUs were moved to and from other Asian nations, up 3.2%; 270,000 TEUs to and from North America, down 15.5%; 100,000 TEUs to and from Europe, down 8.1%.
