Containers from Japan to China surged 10.9% from a year earlier to 979,291 tons in November 2018, marking a year-on-year increase for three straight months, according to a report on container movement between the economies released by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC). In terms of value, they swelled 1.1% to \756.2 billion, growing year on year for two back-to-back months.
The JMC report, compiled with trade statistics provided by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), revealed that containers from China to Japan climbed 3.9% to 2,067,326 tons, enjoying a year-on-year rise for the third consecutive month. On a value scale, they amounted to \1.264 trillion, up 4%, registering grow from a year earlier for eight months in a row.
