Exports from Japan to China increased 13.3% from a year earlier to 1,018,374 tons in October, according to a report on container trade between the economies compiled by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC) from trade statistics unveiled by the Ministry of Finance (MOF). Due to robustness in waste paper, they expanded year on year for six months in a row. In terms of value, they grew 4.9% to \785.6 billion, marking the first improvement in two months.

Meanwhile, imports from China to Japan surged 15.5% to 1,990,979 tons, registering a year-on-year increase for seven consecutive months. On a value scale, they jumped 20.5% to \1.27 trillion, which also rose for seven months running.
