Containerized exports from Asia to Europe swelled 6% from a year earlier to a record-high 1,463,628 TEUs in July, according to a report released recently by the Japan Maritime Center (JMC), which added they increased year on year for the fifth straight month.

In the first seven months (January-July), they increased 5.3% to 9,418,705 TEUs in total, which was another all-time high.

The JMC report, which had been compiled from statistical data provided by Container Trades Statistics (CTS) of the U.K., indicated that inbound containers from Europe to Asia, meanwhile, went up 0.5% to 655,088 TEUs in July, which was the first year-on-year improvement in two months.

From January to July, they grew 6.3% to a total of 4,578,376 TEUs. Like exports from Asia to Europe, they also set new records both in the single month of July and in the seven months from January to July.
