Dockworkers in the port of Rotterdam have voted unanimously to strike in the new year to counter against the proposed job cut attempt by terminal operators in Europe's busiest container port.

The dockworkers are in protest of the commissioning of two fully-automated contain terminals at Maasvlakte which would create redundancies of labor forces and thus lead to approximately 800 layoffs.
