The Beijing municipal government will limit car traffic on streets and industrial production to ease the city's traffic congestion and atmosphere pollution for a period from August 20 through September 4 during which the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) World Championships (Aug. 20-30) will be held in Beijing's Bird's Nest stadium, as wells the Sept. 3 military parade commemorating World War II victory.
Automobiles will be allowed on alternating days based on odd or even license plate numbers during the period.
