Shipping agreements covering trades from Asia to the Caribbean Sea and South America have announced their rate restoration programs effective May 1, 2015.
Asia-West Coast South America Agreement (AWCSA) members will implement a rate hike of USD750 per TEU applicable to the trades from Japan to West Coast South America (WCSA), Mexico and West Coast Central America (WCCA), while t Asia to Caribbean Trade Agreement (ACTA) lines will raise USD700 per TEU and USD1,000 per FEU for shipments moving from Japan to Caribbean Sea ports.
