Container lines in the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) will implement a previously announced second-stage $200 per FEU increase in the peak season surcharge (PSS) for cargo moving from Asia to California ports in the Pacific Southeast. The rate action follows the first stage of the identical $200 per FEU increase effected on July 1. While the rate hike to the West Coast was split into two stages, TSA lines implemented a full $400 per FEU increase on July 1 for cargo moving from Asia to ports in the Pacific Northwest, U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, and via intermodal to inland U.S. points.

TSA carriers have recommended a guideline general rate increase (GRI) of $600 per FEU for cargo to all destinations, effective August 1, 2014.
