The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced it had lifted the truck ban to help address the port congestion problems in Manila.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said last week the truck ban in Metro Manila, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. is suspended everyday except Friday, but only on designated routes for trucks throughout the day.

''For 24 hours, six days a week, trucks are allowed to use the alternate routes. This will be for a six month period, from June 10 up to December 10,'' said Tolentino.
''But on Fridays, ordinary truck ban rules apply,'' he added.
