Shanghai Port handled 2.81 million TEUs in October 2012, representing a 3.2% increase compared with 2.72 million TEUs for the same month last year. When compared with 2.9 million TEUs recorded in September, the throughput represents a 3% decline.
For the first 10 months, box traffic at the world's busiest container port totaled 27.97 million TEUs, up 3.8% from 26.95 million TEUs in the same period in 2012.
