As per the Official Gazette Disposition No. 1108/2013 from the Ministry of the Interior and Transportation on October 30, 2013, all Argentina origin cargo must be exported via Argentinean ports or approved MERCOSUR countries (Brazil), according to Hapag-Lloyd.
This rule does not allow transit via Montevideo which is the major export transhipment point for River Plate cargo. The rules are effective immediately and will be enforced from November 4, 2013 when the 8-day waiting period ends.
