The TSA Revenue Index for services bound for the West Coast of the U.S. and interior point intermodal (IPI) services worsened 83.83 points in August 2013, from 84.84 in the previous month, the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement (TSA) said. The August index was down by 5.09 points compared with 88.92 in the same month last year, registering a decline for consecutive months. s.
On the trade from Asia to the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, the index for August stood at 77.98, slightly up by 0.61 points from the previous month. Year on year, the TSA index fell 2.53 points from the previous year's 80.51.
The TSA Revenue Index tracks average revenue per-40 foot container from Asia to the U.S. West Coast and to the East and Gulf coasts, which includes contracted and on-the-spot freight rates as well as terminal handling charges (THCs) and other non-floating charges but does not include bunker surcharges. The numbers are benchmarked in percentage terms against the baseline month of June 2008.
