The China Containerized Freight Index (CCFI) for the week ended August 2, 2013 rose slightly by 1.65% from the previous week to 1105.28 points, while the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI) climbed by 6.8% on week to 1162.75 points, according to the Shanghai Shipping Exchange (SSE).
Spot rate from Shanghai to North Europe rose by 10.4% from the previous week to $1,501 per TEU and those from Shanghai to the Mediterranean surged by 21 from a week before to $1,493 per TEU.
In the transpacific trades,
the spot container rate to the U.S. west coast also increased by 6.5% week on week to $2,069 per FEU following the implementation of a peak-season surcharge of $400 per FEU by Transpacific Stabilization Agreement lines on August 1, though CCFI on the remained unchanged at 1085.35.
