26.07.27WCI Decreases 4% in Week 30
The Drewry World Container Index (WCI) decreased 4% from the previous week to $4,374 per FEU in Week 30 due to a decline in rates on the Asia–Europe and trans-Pacific trade routes. From a year earlier, the index was higher by 74%.
On the trans-Pacific trade route, spot rates from Shanghai to Los Angeles decreased 6% to $5,878 per FEU, while those from Shanghai to New York fell 4% to $7,598 per FEU due to increased capacity and easing demand.
Spot rates declined 5% to $5,988 per FEU from Shanghai to Genoa, while those from Shanghai to Rotterdam decreased 1% to $4,824 per FEU.
