Wage scale meetings of the International Longshoremen's Association's (ILA's) Wage Scale Committee, have in principle approved the proposed agenda of a master contract agreed between ILA and the U.S. Maritime Alliance (USMX) in early February.

The Wage Scale Committee is a group of about 200 union members. They met in Tampa, Florida early this week to discuss whether or not to recommend to the union members to approve the master contract.

Upon formal ratification by both ILA and USMX, the contract will take effect and be valid for six years.
