Progress in world trade logistics performance slowed down over the last two years amid the global recession, but countries that pursued aggressive reforms continued to improve their performance, according to the World Bank's latest survey on trade logistics.

Singapore is the top performer among the 155 economies registering the highest the Logistics Performance Indicators (LPI) at 4.14, which measure the logistics ''friendliness'' of 155 countries. It helps countries identify the challenges and opportunities they face in their trade logistics performance and what they can do to improve.

Countries like Chile, China, India, Morocco, South Africa, Turkey, and the U.S. all improved their previous performance, according to the study, which is based on a comprehensive world survey of international freight forwarders and express carriers.

Ranked second was Hong Kong (LPI: 4.12), followed by Finland (4.05), Germany (4.03), the Netherlands (4.02), Denmark (4.02), Belgium (3.98), Japan (3.93), the US (3.93) and the UK (3.90).
