Vietnam's national railway company, Vietnam Railways Corporation (VRC), will launch a 1,630-kilometer container train links from Haiphong Port to Lao Cai and Haiphong to Yen Vien, Gia Lam and Hanoi to reduce the load on the road system.
It is estimated that if 10 percent of the container volume at Haiphong Port is shifted to railway, the workload on National Highway 5 will be reduced by some 200 vehicle trips.
