ACL refers to tasks that forwarders and customs brokers carry out to send information on bills of lading (B/Ls) to shipping companies. Japan International Freight Forwarders Association Inc. (JIFFA) made some proposals on behalf of non-vessel-operating common carriers (NVOCCs) in respect to a reform in Sea-NACCS, a system for processing customs information. JIFFA’s proposals were adopted when a new system, which is in service now, went into operation. JIFFA will give seminars on the new Sea-NACCS system on November 10 in Kobe and Osaka, and on November 11 in Nagoya.
