Japan's Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Tadahiro Matsushita and Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nam Ho Thi Kim Thoa recently have signed cooperation agreements on the establishment of policy dialogue in the field of distribution and logistics at the ministry headquarters in Ho Chi Minh.

In recent years, economic cooperation between Vietnam and Japan is constantly evolving both in quality and quantity. In 2010, total bilateral trade between the two countries reached more than US$16 billion, up nearly 24% over the previous year.

Japan and Vietnam also actively cooperate in large projects on construction of transportation infrastructure, technology and human resource development. In the distribution sector, many Japanese logistics service providers have made inroads into the Vietnamese market.
