Singapore-based APL said it is experiencing an increase in the scrutiny of inbound / advance manifest data by China Customs for all shipments destined for China.

Any amendments made after the submission of the inbound arrival manifest 5 days prior to vessel's arrival will cause significant delays and incur fines from China Customs.

APL has warned that shippers pay particular attention to ensure that information, particularly seal numbers, on their shipping instructions submitted to carriers is accurate and timely.
