After five years from the opening, Yangshan Port container throughput is expected to exceed 10 million TEUs for the first time this year.
The completion of Yangshan Port operation is a major achievement for Shanghai as an international shipping center. Through Phase 1, 2, and 3 in five years, the port now has 16 berths with a total quay length of 5,600 meters and container handling capacity of 9.3 million per annum.
Its cumulative total of container throughput will exceed 35 million TEUs at the end of this year with an average annual increase of 32.5%.
