The Republic of Senegal recently has notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of the adoption of the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (Revised 2009), the regulation of wood packaging material in international trade (ISPM No. 15).
Under the ISPM No. 15 regime, all wood packaging materials bound for Senegal including pallets, crates and dunnages will be required that they be treated with heat or fumigated with methyl bromide and marked with a seal of compliance.
The rule will applied to wood packaging materials reaching the country on and after August 15, 2010.
