South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs has announced that cargo handling during the Lunar New Year holidays from February 12 through 16 is maintained as usual for such major raw materials as oil, iron ore and petrochemical products, while container terminals will be closed only on the New Year’s Day though emergent loading and unloading operations available with the 48-hour advance notice.
Most of the terminals will stop operations of general cargo on the New Year’s Day and the next day but terminal operators may accept unloading operation of urgently needed cargo subject to request.
