The Port of Tsuruga in central Japan handled 81,896 TEUs of containers in 2025, down 7% from the previous calendar year, according to preliminary figures unveiled by the port, harbor, and airport department of the local prefectural government. As for international shipments, 14,435 TEUs were exported, down 12.9%, and 15,101 TEUs were imported, down 12.8%, for a total of 29,536 TEUs, down 12.9%. Meanwhile, domestic containers totaled 52,360 TEUs, down 3.3%.
