The Port of Nagoya handled 201,973 TEUs of foreign-trade containers in January, up 4%, the first year-on-year improvement marked at the port in two months, according to preliminary statistics unveiled by the Nagoya Port Authority.

By terminal, throughput almost quadrupled at Tobishima Pier North Container Terminal, skyrocketing 299.9% to 6,693 TEUs. Volumes grew 31.6% to 22,754 TEUs at Tobishima Pier South Container Terminal, 13.4% to 46,815 TEUs at Tobishima Pier South Side Container Terminal, and 3.9% to 95,243 TEUS at Nabeta Pier Container Terminal. In contrast, containers to and from NCB Container Terminal plunged 27% to 30,468 TEUs.
